There are a myriad of God-ordained connections during my WTS time, such as the prayers of precious online instructors; and then a fellow student who became my friend and an Aunty to our daughter in her first year as an international student (and lives a 10 minute walk from her dorm!)

I am unsure of future plans currently as I wait upon the Lord to reveal His plan for me. I enjoyed my time at WTS, growing in faith and love of my Savior, and learning how to love others better. It was challenging doing school, being a husband, raising kids, eldering, and running a business but the Lord provided all I needed and more. Praise God for His faithfulness to me, my family and His people. I look forward to what the Lord has for me and my family in building His kingdom.

After graduation, I plan to continue counseling at my church and begin looking at how to grow our Counseling/ Care Ministry. My time at WTS enriched my personal walk with the Lord as well as gave me valuable tools to use in my counseling. I have grown in my confidence to come alongside my counselees as I learn from them and walk with them in their suffering. My favorite class was Counseling Abusive Marriages with Darby Strickland. I work mainly with vulnerable women in destructive marriages and Darby showed how to come alongside of these women and families in patience and safety.

After graduation, I plan to continue my work in faith-based, trauma-informed counseling, helping individuals and families navigate healing, suffering, and spiritual growth. Westminster strengthened both my theological foundation and my approach to compassionate care. During a season of recovering from spiritual abuse, I experienced unexpected kindness and encouragement through this community, which helped restore hope in the beauty of the body of Christ. One of my favorite parts of the program was seeing theology come alive in real-life ministry and counseling.

My plans after graduation include having a baby (due in about a month!) and settling into the new role of motherhood. My desire and calling is also to use my MAC degree to counsel within my local church and community where there is a great need for biblical counseling. One of my favorite things about the MAC program – and counseling – has been meeting so many interesting people and learning from them. I made many connections through my time at Westminster that continue to be a huge blessing today.

I loved my time studying at Westminster. When I became Reformed 20 years ago, I began learning about Westminster’s history and also read many of the books, sermons, and articles written by its notable faculty. I was hooked. I decided to pursue a postgraduate degree at Westminster to sharpen my ministerial skills, especially in the areas of preaching, leadership, and counseling. I am thankful for the time I had at Westminster with my professors and the fellow pastors in my classes. I am looking forward to continuing to apply what I have learned to a lifetime of pastoral ministry, D.V.

Originally, I had no specific plans for ministry. However, my senior pastor offered me a position to serve as a youth ministry pastor for the high school department. I received this opportunity in faith and obedience, and I am currently serving in that ministry.
I began my studies with a desire to understand Scripture correctly and more deeply. Yet, beyond what I had expected, I came to experience the kingdom of God being established in so many different areas of life. Although I still have a long way to go, I am already receiving abundant blessings and grace in the midst of it all.

Studying in Westminster’s MATS program was a thrilling occasion to walk to the four corners of Reformed theology along side brilliant scholars, students, and followers of Christ. The quality of the readings, lectures, and discussions truly led me to deeper doxology and amazement in the person of Christ and his work of redemption. I am a member of Valley Springs PC in Roseville, CA and enjoy community and communion with the family of God. Now age 62, I have enjoyed work in secular executive management and leadership in Christian organizations since confessing Christ at age 15.
